“…The values of fitted parameters and the standard (2)] system at T=293.15 K. The negative values of V m E indicate the existence of a volume contraction on mixing IL with alcohol due to the dominant electrostatic attraction between cation and anion found in IL, and hydrogen bonding between IL and molecular liquids. The interactions between ions and alcohol molecules are stronger than those found in the pure compounds, and this is in line with the results obtained for imidazolium based ILs by Vercher et al & Sandhya et al [47][48][49][50]. The values of excess molar volumes decrease with the increase of the chain length of the alcohols.…”

“…The refractive index deviations of the binary mixtures [EMIM][(EtO)(H)PO2] (1) + methanol (2)] and [EMIM][(EtO)(H)PO2] (1) + 2-propanol (2)] versus 1 at T=293.15 K are plotted in Figures 9 and 10, respectively. ∆ presents a positive deviation from ideality over the whole composition range, whilst the positive deviations in refractive index deviation values indicate the presence of strong interactions in the mixtures, like ion-dipole interactions between Il ions and alcohols[50,54].…”

“…Despite the importance of imidazolium-based ILs in industrial applications, work dealing with the thermophysical properties of mixtures of [emim][Me 2 SO 4 ] or [emim][SCN] with solvents is scarce in the literature. In the published papers, data reported in the literature are density and viscosity ,,,,, of the pure [emim][Me 2 SO 4 ] and density , and viscosity ,,,, of pure [emim][SCN]. Nevertheless, there are few references that report physical properties data of these ILs with ethanol or 1-propanol.…”

“…Nevertheless, there are few references that report physical properties data of these ILs with ethanol or 1-propanol. As far as we know, data reported are densities of [emim][Me 2 SO 4 ] + ethanol , and [emim][Me 2 SO 4 ] + 1-propanol, ,, speed of sound of [emim][Me 2 SO 4 ] + 1-propanol ,, and viscosity of [emim][Me 2 SO 4 ] + 1-propanol . Moreover, only recent molecular simulation of [emim][SCN] + ethanol binary system have been reported in the literature.…”

“…In mixtures of co-solvents with imidazolium chloride or acetate ionic liquids it is reported that excess molar volume is decreasing with increasing cosolvent concentration until reaching a minimum for molar fractions of around 0.6-0.7 [20,23]. Sandhya et al studied the influence of the temperature and alcohol's length in the excess volume, and they found that when the temperature and the alcohol chain length increases, the mixture becomes less ideal, and the point where the excess molar volume is maximum moves to higher compositions [35]. On the other hand, Makhtarani et al measured the behavior of binary mixtures of pyridinium based ionic liquid plus water, and they found that the mixtures have positive excess molar volume, and it is less ideal when the temperature increases [36].To the best of our knowledge, there are no experimental data of densities and excess molar volume of mixtures DMSO + AmimCl.…”
