“…Soil microbial biomass content and enzyme activity exhibit a more rapid response to changes in soil moisture than to changes in other soil properties. For example, a decrease in soil water availability directly or indirectly affects the reproduction and activity of microorganisms (Ren et al, 2018;Chen et al, 2023). Therefore, exploring the effects of drought on microbial activity will contribute to our understanding of the structure and function of terrestrial ecosystems under various global precipitation patterns.…”

“…Termites are recognized for their roles in a wide range of habitats, as ecosystem engineers, and contributing to carbon turnover or soil fertility. However, within the built environment, some species are considered severe pests of wooden structures and have detrimental effects on agricultural and forestry practices ( Jouquet et al 2011 , Govorushko 2019 , Chen et al 2023 ). One of the implications of global warming is an increase in the number of termite species becoming invaders and an expansion of the distribution range ( Buczkowski and Bertelsmeier 2017 , Evans 2021 ).…”

“…The exploratory review of specific structural parcels of concrete with fine aggregates replaced partly by pulverized termite mound [PTM], showed partial cover for fine aggregate up to 50 in concrete, will not reduce the structural strength of the performing structure [14]. In the exploratory review on sand and cement relief by TMC, termite mound complexion replacing 30 to 40 fine aggregate and cement from amalgamation was analysed and the compressive strength of the performing that concrete which had its fine aggregate 40 replaced with TMC was further than 35 of using normal concrete [16]. Also, strength development of termite mound cement paste and concrete study handed the effect of termite mound complexion capsule on concrete parcels.…”
