“…During this retrospective observational study of bTB exposed cattle, we found that animal characteristics, movement histories and concurrent infections were significantly associated with variation in skin‐test response reaction and/or metrics of bTB post‐mortem pathology. This adds to previous literature highlighting the variation in performance of the skin‐test dependent on tuberculin potency and administration (e.g., Casal et al., ; Good, Clegg, Costello, & More, ) and enhances our understanding of factors impacting on post‐mortem variation in pathogenesis (e.g., O'Hagan et al., ; Wright et al., ). Importantly, this study adds to the growing understanding of how co‐infection may be impacting on transmissibility or the ability to detect M. bovis for pathogens that are endemic in the UK, Ireland and elsewhere.…”
