Effect of the Integrated Use of Mineral- and Bio-Fertilizers on Yield and Some Agronomic Characteristics of Fodder Pearl Millet (Pennisetum Glaucum L.)

Abstract: There is an increasing need to improve the fodder productivity of the common forage crops grown in the summer season in Egypt. Fertilizer management is among the common cultural practices that have a direct influence on the forage yield and growth attributes.

“…This is because vermicompost application enhances the soil's physical and hydraulic properties as well as the availability of NPK, which increases plant growth. These results are in close conformity with Hend (2017), Habiba et al (2018) and Savita et al (2019).…”

“…So, foliar spray by urea at a 1.0% level was enough to obtain satisfactory results under salinity conditions. Similar results were obtained by Hassan et al, (2016) and Habiba et al, (2018). These increments in dry yield may be attributed to the increases in plant growth characteristics by foliar nitrogen application rates and water distribution uniformity in the root zone along the field, with minimal losses of supplied water, consequently, the increase in moisture availability helped endorse the growth, development, and biomass yield of the pearl millet forage crop.…”

“…Sargodha bajra-2020: a high green ……. 53 by Noor et al (2018) and Eissa et al (2018) that increasing the Nitrogendose, the photosynthetic area as well as the assimilate production in the plant were increased ultimately resulting increase in plant height and number of shoots/plant, also increased the leaf area/plant. Similar findings of significant Nitrogen effect on quality traits in pearl millet were reported by Bramhaiah et al (2018).…”
