were used. A total of 22 groups were created in which SACs were applied without adhesive and with five different universal bonding agents in total-etch (TE) and self-etch (SE) modes. Two hundred and forty test sticks were obtained using 48 healthy human molar teeth in total with groups having 10 samples each. The μTBS test was applied to each sample in the Universal test device and the data obtained were analyzed statistically by variance analysis and Tukey HSD test. In addition, the resin-dentin interface and fractures modes in the groups were examined by SEM. Upon examining the μTBS results, the highest values were seen in the use of SBU adhesive in TE mode in VF group, while the lowest values were seen in the FLD control group.The difference between the control and experimental groups was found statistically significant (p < .05). Upon comparing the control groups with each other, it was seen that VF group had higher μTBS values than FLD group and the difference between the groups was found statistically significant (p < .05). The μTBS results and SEM images of the study showed that the use of SACs with universal adhesive systems provides a more effective bond strength. Objective: to assess micro-shear bond strength (μSBS) of two universal adhesives (UA) having two etching aggressiveness applied to dentin in a self-etch mode, immediately and after thermal ageing.Methods: the occlusal enamel of twenty-eight sound human premolar teeth were removed to expose a flat dentin surface for bonding procedures. Teeth were randomly assigned to one of two groups according to the adhesive; the first group (Peak-Universal: PU) has intermediate etching aggressiveness (1.2 pH) and the second group (All-Bond-Universal: ABU) has ultra-mild etching aggressiveness (3.2 pH). After bonding procedures as per manufacturer instructions, a nanohybrid composite resin was placed and light cured. All specimens were stored in demineralized water at 37˚C for 24 hours. Half of the specimens were evaluated for μSBS testing after 24 hours of water storage at 37˚ C and the other half were evaluated after thermal ageing using10000 thermal-cycles and sixmonths water storage, then observed by SEM. μSBS in (MPa) were compared with analysis of variance. Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were applied to assess normality of distributions (P < 0.05 was considered as significant).Results: PU showed statistically significant higher mean μSBS than AU, immediately and after thermal ageing. Thermal ageing and water storage did not significantly influence PU while bond degradation was significant in AU.Conclusion: with regard to the adhesive systems used in this study, when self-etch mode was used, UA with aggressive pH (intermediate) revealed better bonding effectiveness and stability against thermal aging and water storage than those with ultra-mild pH.Clinical relevance: Self-etch mode has a positive effect on the dentin bond durability of universal adhesives, as was seen with the previous generation of self-etch adhesives. Adeziv sistemlerin bağlanma mekanizmaları temelde asidik monomerler ile dental sert dokudan ayrılan minerallerin yerini polimerlerin alarak dental yapı ile mikromekanik bir kilitlenme yapması ve fonksiyonel monomerler ile kimyasal olarak bağlanması ile sağlanmaktadır. 1 Adeziv sistemler klinik olarak iki farkı teknikte uygulanır: etch&rinse (asitle ve yıka) ve selfetch (kendinden asitli) sistemler. ÖZSelf-Cure' Üniversal Adezivin Dentine Olan Mikrogerilim Bağlanma Dayanımı: İn Vitro çalışma Amaç: Farklı yüzey hazırlama prosedürleri ve yaşlandırma işlemi sonrası, self-cure (kendi kendine polimerize olabilen) bir adezivin, iki farklı üniversal adeziv ile dentine olan mikrogerilim bağlanma dayanımının (µGBD) karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirilmesidir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmada, 18 adet çekilmiş insan üçüncü azı dişi kullanıldı. Dişlerin okluzal mine yüzeyleri uzaklaştırıldı ve orta-koronaldeki dentin yüzeyleri elde edildi. Örnekler kullanılan yüzey hazırlama prosedürlerine göre iki gruba (Etch&Rinse -ER ve Self-Etch -SE), ardından uygulanacak adeziv sisteme göre üç alt gruba ayrıldı: 1) Clearfil Universal Bond Quick -CUQ, 2) G-Premio Bond -GBP, 3) Tokuyama Universal Bond-TUB. Adeziv uygulanan dentin yüzeyine 4 mm yükseklikte kompozit rezin uygulandı ve polimerize edildi. Örnekler 24 saat 37 °C nemli ortamda bekletildikten sonra düşük hızlı kesme cihazı (Micracut 125, Metkon, Bursa, Türkiye) kullanılarak yaklaşık 1 mm2'lik kesitler elde edildi (n=15). 24 saat veya 6 ay suda yaşlandırma işlemi sonrası örneklerin mikrogerilim bağlanma testi (Microtensile Tester, Bisco, IL, ABD) 0,5 mm/dk bir hızda gerçekleştirildi ve veriler megapaskal (MPa) cinsinden kaydedildi. Veriler Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U ve bağımsız örneklem t-test kullanılarak analiz edildi. Kopma tipleri stereomikroskop altında incelendi.Bulgular: Tüm adezivlerde ER prosedürü istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde yüksek μGBD gösterdi (p<0,001). Self-Etch prosedürü uygulanan gruplarda yaşlandırma işlemi sonrası adezivlerin μGBD değerleri arasında anlamlı fark görülmedi. (p>0,05). Etch&Rinse prosedürü uygulanan gruplarda yaşlandırma işlemi sonrası, TUB hariç (p=0,282) diğer adezivlerde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olarak azalma görüldü (p<0,001). Sonuç: Self-Etch prosedürü ile kullanılan üniversal adezivlerin yaşlandırma işlemi sonrası µGBD değerleri anlamlı fark göstermedi. 'Self-cure' adeziv TUB diğer adezivlerden daha düşük µGBD değerleri gösterdi ancak her iki prosedürde de yaşlandırma işlemi sonrası µGBD değerleri anlamlı fark göstermeyen tek adezivdi.
