Effect of Toluene on Ethanol Preference in Rats

Abstract: The effect of toluene on the preference of ethanol was studied in rats. Toluene was administered orally by stomac tube in doses of 200, 400 or 800 mg/kg daily for 5 weeks or by inhalation at a concentration of 2000 p.p.m. 6 or 8 hr daily for 5 or 6 days per week for 2 weeks in rats of different age.
