Abstract: Summary.-The study of physiological mechanisms involved in drought tolerance at the cellular leve\ cou Id le ad tc the characterization of tolerance parameters useful in crop breedings. ln this study, we analyse in the case of Vigna and Phaseolus leaves, the affect of water deficit on cel\ permeability and chloroplast integrity.Chloroplasts were isolated from control and stressed plants.
