“…Previous investigations of weak PMF actions on lipids in onion leaves [Novitskaya et al, 2006], in seedlings [Novitskaya et al, 2010;Novitskii et al, 2014a], leaves of mature plants [Novitskaya et al, 2008], and seeds of radish plants [Novitskii et al, 2011[Novitskii et al, , 2014b showed that PMF also changed composition and content of lipids in membranes of chloroplasts, mitochondria, and cytoplasm. Therefore, influence of weak PMF on composition and content of lipids in all three crops represents a common regularity.…”

“…Investigation of weak horizontal PMF action on early developmental stages of long-day radish plants in light and darkness under lowered temperature showed that during seed germination, neutral lipids (NL), mainly triacylglycerols (TAG), were used for formation of polar lipids (PL) [Novitskaya et al, 2010]. As a result, the amount of glycolipids in control plants increased fivefold; that of phospholipids increased twofold.…”

“…The rings were graded by the ballistic method in the U 541 device. Calcula tions and PMF measurements were performed as described in [10,11]. The difference in temperature between the experimental and control variants did not exceed 0.5°С.…”

“…In contrast to the geomagnetic field, the weak PMF changed the ratio of lipids, including membrane lipid, depending on the affiliation of plants to the main MOT. This suggests that the differences in the response of the main MOT (NS and WE) to changes within the evolutionary and historical values of the magnetic field strength are also individual and often oppositely directed, similarly to their responses to other stimuli (e.g., light and temper ature) [10]. This phenomenon apparently is not due to differences in the physical mechanism of action of PMF on plants of these MOT; most likely, it is due to physiological inadequacy of the response at the level of a weak stimulus in NS and WE MOT plants, because they have different sensitivity to weak PMF, reflecting individual features of their physiological status [15].…”
