“…Considered as one of the most toxic kinds of ions, Pb(II) can severely harm human bodies. Therefore, the efficient separation/removal of Pb(II) from aqueous solutions is highly important and has attracted much attention. In particular, Pb(II) separation using graphene oxide (GO) is the subject of numerous investigations. In separation technologies, GO has been shown to be a highly promising material, , used for gas and ion separation, , water purification, and desalination, with outstanding efficiency.…”

“…Different carbon materials like porous carbon, carbon nanotubes and fullerene have been extensively used for advanced treatment of wastewaters (Gupta and Saleh, 2013). Recently, graphene-based material has been successfully utilized as an adsorbent in the field of nano sciences (Amiri et al, 2018;Mondal et al, 2018), specifically for environmental remediation (Achazhiyath Edathil et al, 2019;La et al, 2017). This led to the development of carbon-based composite adsorbents surface functionalized with various metal oxides that cater to the removal of specific contaminants.…”

“…Therefore, a cost effective, potential and convenient decontamination technology for wastewater treatment is highly desirable. The high efficiency, cost-effective, and simple operation makes adsorption technology one of the most promising technology for the effective removal of the heavy metal ions from the aqueous solution which adsorb metallic ions at solid-liquid interfaces [41][42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49]. On the other hand, adsorption technology has several challenges, such as selective recovery and reuse of valuable adsorbents and pollutants in the presence of humic substances [50,51].…”
