The study aims to examine Philippine students’ experiences on internship program in Universitas Pamulang. It focuses on the discriminative experiences among interns: opportunities and challenges. In this study, the writers apply descriptive qualitative research method with case study design by conducting a semi-structured interview and distributing questionnaires to 6 Philippine students having participated in internship program. The interns need to share the opportunities and challenges during and after the internship activity. Further, the interns need to share how they cope the challenges. The findings indicate that the interns present homogenous and motivated opportunities, challenges, and ways out of internship program. In opportunity aspects, the results indicate the interns obtain more work experiences during the program. Interns are able to improve their skills and teaching performance, learn new language, culture, and tradition, and prepare for their future careers. However, results indicate the interns experience language, technological and technical barriers as their challenges as they have to do the whole activities through online. Therefore, the interns should find some ways to solve their problems, namely by expanding understanding and patience, discovering interesting and effective ways of learning, and communicating with supervisors. The activities in internship program assist interns to be skillful in handling any kinds of situations.

Undergraduate unemployment in Indonesia is increasing in number every year. Seeing this phenomenon, the Indonesian Ministry of Education immediately updated the education policy and implemented it. The current new policy seeks to find links and matches for educational curricula with the needs of the world of work. There are several factors that can affect the degree of effectiveness of policy implementation. This study aims to look at several factors that arise from previous studies in their influence on the effectiveness of policy implementation. This research is exploratory quantitative research with the population being the academic community of the Faculty of Economics, Semarang State University who participated in the new policy program. The sample numbered 410 lecturers and students who were counted with Slovin. The sampling technique is random sampling and is taken with a questionnaire. The questionnaire was analyzed with the Structural Equation Model using Warp PLS. The competence of graduates has a weak effect on the effectiveness of policy implementation. When viewed based on the year of its implementation, this policy has only produced one graduating batch. So, it does not seem to be effective when viewed from the competence of university graduates. This study resulted in a linkage between free variables. Institutional support has a weak effect on the competence of graduates. This indicates that there is still weak support from universities and the weak mentality of today's students.

Problems and challenges of future medical education: current state and development prospects

The system of medical education has demonstrated varying degrees of effectiveness around the world. Two approaches are dominant - the traditional approach, which consists of students acquiring knowledge, and the innovative approach, which implies a greater role of practical training. The traditional approach dominates in Asian countries, Russia, and Ukraine. The innovative approach is actively implemented in Western countries (USA, European Union). The study aimed to analyze the level of medical education among the most effective systems. For this purpose, 703 articles were analyzed, 41 of which formed the basis of this study. The most effective systems turned out to be French and Canadian. Within the education of these systems, the duration of education can be reduced to 3 years without losing the quality of education. The features of the innovative system of medical education are the selection of applicants, the duration and structure of the educational program, the methods of teaching medical disciplines. This result is possible due to the application of the small group effect with an emphasis on individual search, interpretation of information, and its application in practice. An important factor is that learning to practice begins in the first year. With the help of the test system, students' knowledge is regularly monitored and the opportunity to work in polyclinics as well as with real patients is provided. Based on the information analyzed, we recommend applying the basics of medical education in Canada to students in Pakistan. Certainly, it will help to achieve practical results in a short period of time.
