Abstract: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is an inflammatory disease that affects the entire body. Immune cells positive for human leukocyte antigen B27 are thought to be involved in the pathophysiology. AS is caused by inflammation of the spinal joints, leading to stiffness and reduced spinal movement.
