Congenital anomalies, congenital malformations, or birth defects can be defined as any structural or functional anomalies that develop prenatally and could be identified before, at birth, or later in life. Approximately 6% of babies are born with a congenital anomaly, which results in 2.4 million newborn deaths worldwide. This systematic review and meta-analysis ascertained the quantitative studies published in PubMed, ClinicalKey, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar. Two authors independently screened and extracted the data from the primary studies that analyzed the efficacy of early enteral nutrition (EEN) on the postoperative outcome. This systematic review and meta-analysis adopted Cochrane Collaboration guidelines and reported using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement. The methodological quality of trials was assessed by Cochrane Collaboration's risk of bias tool. Six trials, representing 488 children, with age ranging from 10 days to 6.5 years, fulfilled the inclusion criteria. EEN has significantly shortened hospital stay, induced early fecal movement, and reduced postoperative wound infections in children with congenital gastrointestinal abnormalities undergoing gastrointestinal anastomosis compared with children who received late enteral nutrition. The review also found that the experimental group who received EEN had no significant impact on the anastomosis leakage, vomiting, and abdominal distension. EEN has some positive effects on postsurgery outcomes among children with congenital gastrointestinal anomalies undergoing gastrointestinal anastomosis.

Introduction: Basic Life Support (BLS) has recently received special attention because the majority of cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital, The advancement of technology with medical research contributes to evidence-based care for critically ill patients. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Basic Life Support (BLS) on knowledge, attitude, and practice among high school teachers. Materials and Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted among school teachers. A total of 112 participants were selected using a non-probability purposive sampling technique to evaluate the effectiveness of Basic Life Support (BLS) in terms of knowledge, attitude, and practice. A pre-test was conducted before the intervention and apost-test assessment was done at the end of the 5th day. Result: On the assessment of demographic variables, the majority of participants were found to be male (86, 76.8%), aged between 20 and 30 years (54, 40.2%), and postgraduate (87, 77.7%). The pre and post-test mean, SD, mean difference, standard error, and paired test were employed. On assessing the knowledge of school teachers, the mean difference between pre and post-test was found to be 1.82, standard error was 0.03, and paired t-test value was 50.1. Similarly, in attitude, the mean difference between pre and post-test was 1.92 and paired t-test value was 1.43. Analysis of practice skills showed that the mean difference between pre and post-test was 2.00, standard error was 0.00, and paired t-test value was 0.00. Conclusion: Basic Life Support (BLS) is a highly effective intervention for school teachers. Most of the school teachers improved their knowledge, attitude and practice after the intervention.

Play spaces are important components of paediatric healthcare environments. They provide children with critical opportunities to experience the social, emotional, and developmental benefits of play while in healthcare settings for appointments or hospitalizations. These spaces can help to mitigate stress, provide a sense of normalcy in unfamiliar environments, and facilitate social engagement for children and their families. Given the benefits of play spaces in paediatric healthcare settings, it is important to understand how these spaces can be designed to enhance children's inclusion and quality of care. The aim of this scoping review was to explore the current understanding of paediatric play space design. Using search terms related to children, health care, and play space, six interdisciplinary databases were searched over a 30-year period. The search found 2,533 records from which eighteen were included for review. Findings suggest that although it is well-documented that play spaces offer valuable social and emotional benefits, little is known about the specific design features that can and should be incorporated to enhance play opportunities and ensure that they benefit all children and families. Further, the literature mostly considers play spaces in the context of designated play or recreational rooms. Scholars are encouraged to consider how play opportunities can be incorporated into the designs of paediatric healthcare environments beyond the boundaries of these rooms. Future studies should also consider the diversity of play space users, including children of varying ages and abilities, to create more accessible and inclusive paediatric play spaces for children and their families. Advancing knowledge on play space design can help to optimize the quality of these important spaces and to ensure their designs meaningfully enhance children's play experiences and quality of care.
