Effects of aerobic training on heart rate

Abstract: Regular physical exercise is an important factor to reduce the indexes of cardiovascular and all causes morbimortality. However, there is, apparently, additional and independent benefits of the regular practice of physical exercise and the improvement of the level of aerobic condition. Heart rate (HR) is mediated primarily by the direct activity of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), specifically through the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches activities over the sinus node autorhythmicity, with predomina… Show more

“…This could have occurred equally as a result of physical training, which improves cardiovascular function, 28 as due to the cardiac overload in post by the greater body mass of this group. 23 Additionally, it is known that overweight and obese individuals exhibit lower levels of Chi-square coefficients and p values, odds ratio, relative risk (RR) and number needed to harm (NNH); BMI = body mass index; VO 2max = maximum oxygen uptake; * significant at p ≤ 0.05 and 95%CI.…”

“…These results evidence that the HRV may not be necessarily a direct consequence of engagement and regularity of physical exercises practice, considering other factors, such as genetic characteristics 25 and the other systems besides the cardiac, which determine the aerobic functional capacity during a physical exercise test, such as the respiratory and musculoskeletal.…”

“…Talking about the effects of aerobic exercise, these mostly constitute the improvement of pumping effect of the heart; reduction of blood pressure and resting heart rate of an individual [4][5][6], strengthening of the respiratory muscles and improving its endurance [7], Improvement of mental health, cognitive capacity and alertness also occur [8]. If aerobic exercises are done consistently on a regular basis it helps in fat loss [9].…”
