“…Anabolic steroids are often used for the treatment of osteoporosis and general weakness from malnutrition in the elderly. Administration of testosterone decreases the amount of circulating thyroxine‐binding globulin, and so also does the administration of anabolic analogues of testosterone (11). Since these drugs interfere with the in vitro tests of thyroid function, it was decided to determine the duration of such interference in patients receiving anabolic steroids.…”
