Effects of annealing temperature on the magnetic properties of ZnFe1.97Eu0.03O4 nanoparticles

Abstract: The ZnFe 1.97 Eu 0.03 O 4 nanoparticles were prepared with sol-gel method. The effects of sintering temperature on the structural, morphological and magnetic properties were investigated in detail. The results revealed that the ZnFe 1.97 Eu 0.03 O 4 NPs exhibited weak ferromagnetic properties due to the formation of defects in ZnFe 2 O 4 caused by Eu 3? doping. Moreover, the increased sintering temperature not only enlarged the grain size but also decreased the magnetization of ZnFe 1.97 Eu 0.03 O 4 NPs due to… Show more

“…In these ferrites, if partial doping of +2, +3 ions are replaced in the place of Fe 3+ ions, it may lead to the structural distortion thereby enhancing the magnetic properties. Rare earth doped Ni-Cu-Zn ferrites results in the improved magnetic and optical properties [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]. Higher percentage of rare earth doping in ferrites usually contributes for the formation Advances in Materials Physics and Chemistry of rare earth secondary phases, and is observed for only few kind of rare earth elements [9].…”
