Vcastration t a-chlorohydrin t testosterone propionate treatment.Castration was performed under sterile conditions using ether anaesthesia. A short incision was made in the scrotum and in tunica vaginalis and without injuring the epididymal blood supply and keeping the epididymides in situ, the testes were removed. The incision was closed and a post operative ointment was applied for 5-6 days. a-Chlorohydrin supplied by Upjohn, Kalamazoo, Mich., (sp. act. 1.326), in 0.25 % (i.e. 1.3 g/ml) acqueous methyl cellulose was used. The working solution was made by diluting the stock solution with distilled water.
