Effects of contrast media on porcine bone marrow‐derived mononuclear cells and calf myoblast viability and secretion of VEGF and MCP‐1

Abstract: We investigated the effect of contrast media on bone marrow-derived cell viability, growth factor secretion, and myoblast viability. Bone marrow was exposed to contrast media, mononuclear cells were isolated, viability was assessed by Trypan blue exclusion or cultured for 4 weeks, and conditioned medium was assayed for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1).
