Data collected from 24 marine monitoring stations in Luanhekou-Beidaihe ecological monitoring marine area from 1999 to 2014 reveal a substantial change in the nutrient of this region. The content of nitrogenous nutrients has increased, but phosphate and silicate have decreased. The average N:P ratios have increased from 4.951 in 1999 to 47.188 in 2014;while the Si:N ratios have decreased. The nutrient structure has substantially changed over a period of 16 years. Before 2004, phosphate was relative surplus but inorganic nitrogen was relative lack, while relative surplus of inorganic nitrogen and relative lack of phosphate after 2004. The water quality changed from low nitrogen and high phosphorus (before 2004) to high nitrogen and low phosphorus (after 2004).This finding shows that the nutrient structure may be related to anthropogenic influence.

To inhibit the quality deterioration caused by the frozen storage of surimi products, this work investigated the effect of freezing methods, including raw‐freezing‐setting‐heating, raw‐setting‐freezing‐heating, and raw‐setting‐heating‐freezing, on quality changes in surimi gel. The moisture loss, physical–chemical properties, and protein structure conformation of surimi gel derived from Bombay duck (BD) were assessed following frozen storage periods of 20, 40, and 60 days. The findings suggest that the raw‐setting‐heating‐freezing method yielded optimal surimi gel properties with extended frozen storage time. Employing this approach led to a reduction in thawing loss, while cooking loss remained constant. After 60 days of frozen storage, the hardness exhibited an initial increase followed by a subsequent decrease, and water‐holding capacity increased to 68.2%. Notably, the impact on surimi gel during the late stage of frozen storage was more pronounced throughout the formation of ice crystals, resulting in decreased disulfide bond content. Scanning hematoxylin–eosin (HE) staining slices of samples following thawing and heating demonstrated that the raw‐setting‐heating‐freezing method could better resist the effect of ice crystals in frozen storage period on surimi tissue, while the gel on setting process could delay the erosion imposed on by ice crystals during frozen storage. This study provides a scientific foundation for the industrialization on frozen BD surimi products.

Shrimp trawling is a primary fishing method in the East China Sea. Based on survey data from fishery resource monitoring vessels and on-site sampling data collected before and after the 2020 fishing moratorium in the waters around Lvhua Island, East China Sea, we employed statistical and stable isotope methods to analyze the composition and trophic levels of shrimp trawl bycatch. The results revealed diverse species in the bycatch around Lvhua Island, primarily consisting of coastal benthic organisms. The composition structure exhibited significant differences before and after the fishing moratorium, with Sebastiscus marmoratus identified as the dominant species, showing relative importance index percentages (%IRI) of 29.49% and 78.05% before and after the moratorium, respectively. Stable isotope analysis determined carbon and nitrogen isotope values for the shrimp trawl bycatch around Lvhua Island before and after the moratorium, estimating average trophic levels of 3.43 and 3.60, placing the trophic hierarchy at level 3. The distribution of carbon stable isotope ratios indicated noticeable ecological niche overlap among various biological groups in the waters around Lvhua Island.
