In the last two decades, researchers have been progressively investigating the impact of interparental conflict (IPC) on young adults romantic relationships. This systematic review aimed to synthesize literature on IPC and romantic relationship outcomes among young adults and highlight mechanisms found in this link. Following the PRISMA protocol, 3232 studies were identified using Boolean searches on ProQuest, PubMed, EBSCOhost, Jstor, Cochrane, and Google Scholar, and 17 met the eligibility criteria. To be included, in addition to having IPC and romantic relationship outcomes as variables, studies had to be quantitative in design, have a mean sample age of 18–25, include only participants in romantic relationships at the time of the study, and be published in English with full text available. The review found that IPC is associated with negative conflict management, both perpetration and victimization of aggression, worse communication, negative conflict behaviors, and poor relationship quality. Other outcomes like relationship satisfaction, commitment, as well as mediator variables in the link between IPC and young adult romantic relationship outcomes, such as attitudes towards marriage and conflict attributions, yielded varied results. Several shortcomings in the methodology of the reviewed articles, such as the research sample and measures, were discovered. To deal with the impact of IPC on offspring’s romantic relationships, preventive interventions should be designed and evaluated, and more research with different variables and study designs, with more men, other ethnicities, and more representative sample frames are needed to detect crucial mediators and obtain reliable and generalizable results.

This paper presents a vulnerability framework as a means to contextualize inequities in reading achievement among children who are vulnerable to poor reading outcomes. Models to understand vulnerability have been applied in the social sciences and public health to identify population disparities and design interventions to improve outcomes. Vulnerability is multifaceted and governed by context. El comportamiento académico actualmente representa una variable importante para ser abordada, ésta se vincula grandemente con el entorno de la familia; sin embargo, cuando la interacción es inadecuada puede desencadenar en conductas reactivas. El presente estudio planteó como objetivo analizar la literatura científica en relación con el comportamiento académico reactivo en adolescentes como resultado de la violencia familiar. Se realizó una revisión de literatura en cinco bases de datos Scopus (392), PubMed (462), SciELO (5), Redalyc (2788) y Web of Science (118) con un total de 3765 artículos, de estos se sistematizaron 18 documentos que cumplieron los criterios de selección establecidos por el modelo PRISMA. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 22.2% de los artículos son procedentes de Brasil, 16.7% proceden de Estados Unidos, 11.1% procede de China, México y Turquía, en tanto el 5.6% lo componen países como Canadá, España, Perú, Suecia y Tailandia. La revisión demuestra que el 100% fueron estudios cuantitativos, 55.6% fueron transversales; además, se ha encontrado que la violencia en la familia alcanza niveles por encima del 60% y que sus principales manifestaciones son el maltrato físico, verbal y psicológico, que se traduce en comportamientos de deserción, intimidación y acciones violentas. En conclusión la violencia familiar tiene un efecto negativo y significativo en el comportamiento académico reactivo de los adolescentes que han estado expuesto a situaciones de violencia; finalmente, es necesario desarrollar estrategias de intervención y prevención para mejorar la convivencia y el bienestar de los adolescentes.
