Abstract: Despite being rich sources of monounsaturated fat and a number of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, hazelnuts have received less attention than some other nut types. “…The fruit extract was found to significantly active liver enzymes glutathione stransferase, glutathione peroxidase and catalase, which showed a depression following exposure to the carcinogen. The result suggest the preventive role of water soluble constituents of M.charantia fruit during carcinogensis, which is mediated possibly by their modulatry effect on enzymes of biotransformation and detoxification system of host [52] . Antimicrobial activity: In addition to these properties, leaf extracts of bitter melon have clinically demonstrated broad spectrum antimicrobial activity.…”

“…According to a systematic review published in 2022 (Brown et al, 2022), although there are many studies on hazelnut consumption and its effects on health, only three of them have been done in hypercholesterolemic individuals (MercanlIgil et al, 2007;Orem et al, 2013;Tey et al, 2011) two of them in hyperlipidemic individuals (Deon et al, 2018;Öngün Yılmaz et al, 2019).…”

“…It contributes over 60% of the world's hazelnut production, followed by Italy (TEPGE, 2021). The consumption of hazelnut may provide potential health benefits (Brown et al, 2022) since it is a rich dietary source of protein, fiber, oleic acid, α‐tocopherol, β‐sitosterol, and vitamin E (Karaosmanoglu, 2022). Hazelnut products are used as a side ingredient by food and beverage manufacturers for making various products like chocolate, biscuits, pastries, ice cream, etc.…”
