Effects of Hydrostatic Pressure on Optical Absorption and Refractive Index Changes of Exciton in Semimagnetic CdMnTe Quantum Wells

Abstract: Pressure induced binding energy of a confined exciton in a Cd 1−x out Mn x out Te/Cd 1−x in Mn x in Te/ Cd 1−x out Mn x out Te diluted magnetic quantum well is investigated. Calculations are performed for various Mn incorporation into Cd 1−x Mn x Te material within a single band effective mass approximation using variational method.
