Abstract: Cystic fibrosis related diabetes (CFRD), the main co-morbidity in cystic fibrosis (CF), is associated with higher rates of lung function decline. We hypothesize that airway epithelial barrier function is impaired in CF and is further exacerbated under hyperglycemia, worsening pulmonary outcomes.
