Effects of inclined magnetic field and Joule heating in mixed convective peristaltic transport of non-Newtonian fluids

Abstract: Abstract. This article describes the influence of an inclined magnetic field on the mixed convective peristaltic transport of fluid in an inclined channel. Two types of non-Newtonian fluids are considered. The problem formulation is presented for the Eyring-Prandtl and Sutterby fluids. Viscous dissipation and Joule heating in the heat transfer process are retained. The presence of a heat source in the energy equation is ensured. The resulting problems are solved by the perturbation method. The plots for differ… Show more

“…Peristaltic mechanism of viscous fluid with elastic effects has been examined by Radhakrishnamacharya and Srinivas (2002) in a nonuniform channel. The interesting literature on peristaltic flows can be found in the works of Abbasi et al, 2015;Yih and Fung, 1969;Shapiro et al, 1969;Zien and Ostrach, 1970;Fung and Lowenstein, 1971;Jaffrin, 1973;Sankar and Hemalatha, 2007;Srinivas and Pushparaj, 2008;Hayat et al, 2008Hayat et al, , 2017aMokhtar et al, 2008 and several references therein.…”

“…The study of heat and mass transfer with joule heating on MHD peristaltic blood flow under the influence of hall effect was given by Bhatti et al [27]. Recent attempts on mixed convection peristaltic flow with joule effect can be seen in [28,29].…”
