Abstract:Insulin increases the basal and agonist-stimulated secretion of pancreatic acinar cells, which leads to increase of energy demand and requires sufficient oxidative substrates supply. Cholecystokinin substantially increases the respiration rate of pancreatic acinar cells upon pyruvate oxidation.
