Abstract:Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) is an organ-specific autoimmune disease associated with iodine intake. Increasing evidence suggests that the gut microbiota plays an important role between the gut and thyroid in HT pathogenesis, which is known as the microbiota-gut-thyroid axis.
