Effects of lowered [Na+]o and membrane depolarization on the Ca2+ transients of fast skeletal muscle fibers. Implications for muscle fatigue

Abstract: Sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+) movements during repetitive stimulation of skeletal muscle fibers leads to lowered transmembrane Na+ and K+ gradients.
