Abstract:Energy crisis and environmental sustainability have attracted global attention to microalgal biofuels. The present study investigated the impact of organic carbon sources on growth and bio-oil accumulation by an oleaginous microalga Desmodesmus subspicatusLC172266 under mixotrophic culture condition. Glucose and glycerol supported higher growth rates and lipid productivities than sucrose, fructose, mannitol and acetate. Each of the organic carbon source tested supported signi cantly (P < 0.05) higher growth ra… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
