Abstract:Sensitized leukocytes from live pigs and isolated, perfused pig spleens produced a significant immunotherapeutic effect in AKR mice injected with syngeneic BW 5147 lymphatic leukemia. Therapeutically useful leukocytes were obtained from tumor-sensitized ex vivo perfused pig spleens and from both spleens and peripheral blood of tumor-sensitized live pigs. Therapeutic benefit was achieved only when leukocytes were incubated with tumor cells prior to injection into mice. Normal pig leukocytes were relatively less… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
