Effects of Pre-school Play on Motor Development in Children

Abstract: Motor skills are considered important for children's physical, social, and psychological development. Pre-school age seems to be decisive for the development of motor skills. Our study's aim was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks game education on the motor development of pre-school children aged 4 to 6 years. “…Previous studies also showed that girls outperformed boys in flexibility throughout childhood until adolescence [ 3 , 32 ]. The comparison of TT ability exhibited consistent results with a previous study such that superior performance in male children was observed [ 34 ]. Although investigations on DTH are lacking, recent studies indicated that boys performed significantly better than girls in leap, SLJ, and sideway jump tests [ 35 , 36 ].…”

Children need to play throwing, catching, long jump, vertical jump, running and stopping.…”

“…Indeed, previous research has utilized IoT to stimulate child motor development, but the analysis still relies on human assistance [24]. Moreover, the study conducted by Hayrettin still uses an entirely conventional method [3]. Furthermore, the research that we conduct has the opportunity to be developed with a variety of play activities integrated with the IoT system.…”

“…For the development of fine motor movements, carrying, grasping, writing, drawing geometric pictures with a pencil, cutting paper with scissors, playing with dough and sand, stringing beads, and eating suitable foods with a fork would be helpful. With the pleasure created by all these, children also develop cognitively [ 14 , 15 ]. On the other hand, since some of these activities are carried out outdoors, both the rates of obesity are reduced and the need for Vitamin D is met thanks to sunlight.…”
