Effects of prostaglandin F2α on angiogenic and steroidogenic pathways in the bovine corpus luteum may depend on its route of administration

Abstract: Prostaglandin (PG) F 2α and its analogs (aPGF 2α) are used to induce regression of the corpus luteum (CL); their administration during the middle stage of the estrous cycle causes luteolysis in cattle. However, the bovine CL is resistant to the luteolytic actions of aPGF 2α in the early stage of the estrous cycle.
