Effects of Repeated Lipopolysaccharide Stimulation on the Development of Antigen-presenting Cells and T Cells Pool in Hen Vagina

Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine how the mucosal immunity mediated by T cells is developed in the vagina. Antigen-presenting cells and T cells play important roles in the early process of host defense. Mature T cells and immature dendritic cells expressing CC chemokine receptor (CCR) 6. In contrast, immature T cells and mature dendritic cells express CCR7. It was examined whether repeated antigen stimulation is effective for development of the pool of antigen-presenting cells and T cells in the vagina. W… Show more

“…LPS upregulated the expression of TLR4 as well as the proinflammatory cytokines and the chemokines (Ciesielska et al, 2021;Nii et al, 2011), and increased the infiltration of T cells in the hen oviduct (Nii et al, 2013). Both the intracellular TLRs and NLRs families are Pathogen Recognition Receptors (PRRs) that enhance inflammatory response and apoptosis, leading to rapid elimination of the invasive pathogens (Yao and Qian, 2013).…”

“…Therefore, it is expected that exposure to proper antigens may enhance the immune function of the oviduct. In fact, LPS stimulation conducted five times increased the numbers of CD4 + , CD8 + , and TCRγδ + T cells in the mucosal tissue of the vagina of laying hens, but they did not change after a single LPS stimulation (Nii et al, 2013).…”

“…W ścianie pęcherzyka jajnikowego i w błonie śluzowej jajowodu obecne są liczne makrofagi, APC, różne subpopulacje limfocytów T oraz limfocyty B i związane z nimi immunoglobuliny (23,35,41,42). Wejście w dojrzałość płciową u ptaków manifestuje się zmianami odsetka subpopulacji tych komórek zarówno w ogólnym, jak i w lokalnym systemie immunologicznym układu rozrodczego.…”
