Abstract: Small heat shock proteins (HSPs), such as HSP20, represent cellular thermal resistance mechanisms, to avoid protein aggregation at elevated temperatures. Recombinantly expressed HSP20s serve as a molecular tool for improving the tolerance of living cells to various physical and chemical stressors.
