Abstract: The effects of shear deformation on the electronic structure and optical properties of intrinsic arsenene and arsenene adsorbed Li are investigated using a first‐principles approach. Shear deformation can transform the band gap of intrinsic arsenene from indirect‐direct‐indirect.
