Abstract:Herein, the effects of the bottom shape of the submerged entry nozzle (SEN) on the molten steel flow and size distribution of argon bubbles are analyzed in a steel continuous casting slab strand using multiple‐size‐group approach. The type of nozzle bottom includes the well bottom, flat bottom, and mountain bottom. Most of argon bubbles are larger than 4.5 mm inside the SEN and the mold at the three types of nozzles.
