Effects of the GABA(B) agonist baclofen on volitional swallowing in normal subjects

Abstract: The GABA(B) receptor agonist baclofen is known to suppress the rate of spontaneous swallowing but not pharyngeal muscle contraction. The extent to which baclofen may alter volitional swallowing is not currently known.
