Abstract:Our objective was to investigate crude extracts toxic (MC+) and non-toxic (MC-) effects on the growth of Microcystis panniformis, Microcystis aeruginosa and Microcystis wesenbergii. Cultures were submitted to extracts MC+ at 5 and 10 MC µg.L-1 , and to MC-equivalent weight of these concentrations. Both crude extracts worked toward reducing the growth of M. wesenbergii and stimulating the growth of M. panniformis. Likewise, M. aeruginosa was inhibited by addition of crude MC-extract. The action of microcystins … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
