Effects of traditional Chinese mind-body exercise-Baduanjin for type 2 diabetes on psychological well-being: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract: BackgroundType 2 diabetes is considered one of the most psychologically demanding chronic conditions. Patients suffering from this disease often have poor psychological well-being due to emotional stress. “…This meta-analysis showed that Qigong exercise had significant effects on WC, SBP, and TG level, and the subgroup analysis confirmed the effects of Qigong exercise on BMI, DBP, and FBG, HDL-C, and TC levels. 1) The effects of Qigong exercise on WC and BMI may be attributable to the ability of Qigong exercise to dredge the meridians, promote blood circulation, regulate internal organs, and enhance health according to traditional Chinese medicine theory (Kong et al, 2022).
