Abstract:Objective To compare postoperative complications in patients undergoing major surgery who received non-filtered or filtered red blood cell transfusions. Design Prospective, randomised, double blinded trial. Setting 19 hospitals throughout the Netherlands (three university; 10 clinical; six general).
