Morbihan disease (MD) is a rare entity. Its nosography is unclear and its therapeutic management is difficult. We report a new case of MD. We report a case of a 51-year-old patient consulted in our department for a one year facial edema, erythema and papules reported by him, for which the patient was treated with cyclins, local and general corticotherapy, without improvement. The clinical examination found an important edema of the front and eyelids with an erythema of the cheeks covered with a few telangiectasias. The clinical, biological and histological findings lead to a diagnosis of Morbihan disease after excluding other diseases. Due to previous therapeutic failures, the patient was put on isotretinoin and furosemide with slight improvement. The particularity of our observation lies in the rarity and especially in the therapeutic difficulties encountered during this disease.

Morbihan disease (MD) is a rare entity. Its nosography is poorly understood, and its therapeutic management is difficult. We report a new case of MD. We report the case of a 39-year-old patient consulted in our department for a year with facial edema, erythema and papules reported by him, for which the patient was treated with cyclines, local and general corticosteroid therapy, without improvement. : Morbihan disease (MD) is a rare and infrequent condition primarily affecting adults of both sexes in their third and fourth decades of life. Patients with MD typically present with asymptomatic, recurrent bilateral symmetrical pitting edema, which has an insidious onset and a progressive course. This edema affects the upper two-thirds of the face, including the forehead, glabella, periorbital area, cheeks, and nose, with or without erythema. Over time, it evolves into persistent solid, non-pitting, asymptomatic edema that is neither painful nor pruritic. Morbihan disease may cause facial contour deformity and sometimes narrowing of the visual field. The etiopathogenesis of MD remains unknown, and currently, there is no specific treatment for the condition. This review article provides an update on MD, aiming to increase awareness and knowledge about its etiopathogenesis and management.
