“…Melanosome-targeting Q-switched lasers are currently the main treatment option for nevus of Ota and proved being effective and safe. 3,4,[13][14][15] Zhou et al 13 found that early intervention with a 1064nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (QSNL) and a 755nm Q-switched alexandrite laser (QSAL) was beneficial for children with nevus of Ota, which reduced the number of treatments, and achieved a cure rate of 75%-80% after seven treatments, 96.15% after 10 treatments respectively. Achavanuntakul et al 15 initiated the laser treatment with QSNL for children with nevus of Ota before the age of 5 years significantly improved therapeutic outcomes and reduced the risk of adverse events and recurrence.…”
