“…Similarly, Milyana NS et al2 reported that out of total of 30 cases that underwent double phototherapy, 16 were males and 14 were females. In another study of Naderi S et al 13 males and females term, neonates were 21 (52%) and 19 (48%) respectively. The likelihood of High total serum bilirubin (TSB) increases with non-Caucasian race, as and the male gender and similarly does the cephalohematoma evidence.…”

“…In Table 2, we summarize the other recent RCTs (21–37), i.e., the RCTs published between 2008 up to and including 2010. These studies focussed on diagnostic aspects such as TcB measurements (21,22) as well as treatment strategies including PT (23–30), prebiotics (31) or pharmacological treatment, i.e., treatment with drugs (32–35) and Chinese herbs (36,37). It is interesting to note that increasingly these clinical trials are being conducted in non‐Western countries.…”

“…Naderi's study [10] compared the benefits, complications and length of hospitalization between double and triple phototherapy in term new borns with indirect hyperbilirubinemia. He showed triple phototherapy had no particular benefit to double phototherapy and had no significant difference in overall decline rate of serum bilirubin.…”
