“…A sensibilidade de R. solani e Rhizoctonia spp. à pencycuron é altamente variável, mesmo entre isolados de mesmo grupo de anastomose (Roberts & Stephens, 1984;Sumner, 1987). Segundo Ueyama et al (1993), pencycuron é a única molécula ativa do fungicida na célula.…”

“…Pencycuron is a novel fungicide with selective activity only against R. solani (YAMADA 1986) and has been reported to control R. solani infections in rice (AGl; YAMADA 1986), potatoes (AG3; LnTLE and COOKE 1988), cotton (AG4; HILLOCKS et al 1988), beans (AG2-1, AG2-2, AG4; GULLINO et al 1984;SUMMER 1987), sugarbeet (AG2;SCHNEIDER and POTTER 1983;RUPPEL and HECKER 1987), cowpea (AG4;SuMNER et al 1988;KATARIA et al 1989) and St. Augustine grass (AG2-1; GRISHAM 1985). In the present study, pencycuron expressed strong activity only against AG2-2, AG3, AG6 and AG9 and was ineffective towards the six other AGs and all 20 AG4 isolates infecting rapeseed/canola in Saskatchewan and Alberta.…”

“…azoxystrobin, benomyl, carbendazim, fluazinam, fludioxonil, imazalil, iprodione, mepronil, pencycuron, propiconazole, quintozene (PCNB), thiabendazole, thiram and tolclofos-methyl (Davis et al, 1971;Chand & Logan, 1982;Leach & Murdoch, 1985;Sumner, 1987;Jager et al, 1991;Olaya et al, 1994;Wicks et al, 1995;Virgen-Calleros et al, 2000), but mostly provided varying and inconsistent control. R. solani has acquired resistance to both protectant organic fungicides such as captan, dichlone, maneb, quintozene, thiram and tolclofos-methyl (Shatla & Sinclair, 1963;Elsaid & Sinclair, 1964;Meyer & Parmeter, 1968;Van Bruggen & Arneson, 1984) and to systemic fungicides such as benomyl, carboxin, dichlozoline, oxycarboxin, thiophanate-methyl and 2-(thiocyanomathylthio)-benzothiazole (TCMTB) (Martin et al, 1984).…”
