“…The role of pulmonary vein (PV) isolation remains unclear due to our lack of knowledge of AF mechanisms in the BrS population. Yamada et al 71 published a case series of six patients and reported freedom from AF after catheter ablation in 83% of patients (5/6) at 1‐year follow‐up; of interest, they noted a lack of pulmonary vein ectopics, raising the possibility that AF triggers could originate from elsewhere in the atria. Conte et al 70 analyzed the outcome of PV isolation using cryoablation or radiofrequency energy ablation in patients with BrS with recurrent episodes of AF and reported 67% freedom of atrial arrhythmias without AADs in a 2‐year follow‐up; moreover, inappropriate ICD interventions for atrial arrhythmias were completely eliminated.…”
