Efficacy of shear wave dispersion imaging for viscoelastic assessment of the liver in acute graft-versus-host disease rats

Abstract: Background: To investigate the feasibility of using shear wave dispersion (SWD) imaging to evaluate hepatic acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) in a rat model. Methods:To establish an aGVHD model, 30 Wistar rats were subjected to bone marrow transplantation, 10 Fischer 344 rats were used as donors, and 6 Wistar rats were used as the control group. Each week, 6 rats were randomly chosen and divided into groups of 1 week (1 w) to 5 weeks (5 w). For each subgroup, the rats received clinical index assessment a… Show more

“…The experimental protocol is shown in Figure 1 . Random numbers were generated using the “=RAND ()” function in Microsoft Excel (Microsoft Corp., Redmond, WA, USA) to allocate mice into three groups (n=12) ( 30 ). In the control group, ulcers were left without any treatment; in the CCLH group, CCLH (Kamistad, STADA Arzneimittel AG, Bad Vilbel, Germany) was applied on the ulcer site of the tongue mucosa twice a day; in the PC group, 200 mg/L of PC solution (Zhejiang Binmei Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Taizhou, China) was administered as the sole source of water.…”
