“…A. lumbricoides had the highest mean intensity (3691.12 ± 3898.47) among the nematodes recorded in the study. This is in line with the results of [ 45 ]. The mean intensity of A. lumbricoides recorded was higher as compared to the results obtained by [ 18 ] who obtained 2594.44 ± 3897.174 and slightly lower than that obtained by [ 17 ] who registered 3722 ± 5677 for A. lumbricoides .…”

“…The observed CR for single dose mebendazole in this study was in line with results from RCTs conducted in terms of CR in china (31%)in Vietnam (38%) (20,24), and ERR in line from RCTs conducted in Tanzania (ERR = 68%) (16). However, it is considerably lower than from other RCT studies conducted in terms of CR in Tanzania (95.4%), and in Cameron(70.4%) (33,34), whereas in terms of ERR in collaboration of six endemic countries (79.6%), Cameron (77%), and PDR (76.3%) (18,26,33). On the other hand it is higher than a RCT study reported in terms CR in Tanzania (13%), Zanzibar (7.6%), Tanzania (24.4), and PDR (17.6%) (16,18,19,35).…”

“…This is in line with studies conducted in China (CR = 29%) [14], Vietnam (CR = 38% & ERR = 52%) [19], and Tanzania (CR = 24.4 & ERR = 59.5%) [32]. However, it does not agree with other studies conducted in Zanzibar (CR = 7.6%) [28], Tanzania (CR = 13%) [18], Lao PDR (CR = 17.6% & ERR = 76.3%) [33], and Cameroon (CR = 70.3%) [31]. The above mentioned reasons could also have resulted in the discrepancies.…”

“…Studies have been conducted to assess the efficacy of the single dose of mebendazole on hookworm infections [14,18,19,28,[31][32][33]. Overall, their CRs ranged from 7.6 to 70.3% and ERRs ranged from 52 to 76.3%.…”
