Abstract:Higher-order boundary-element methods (BEM) are presented for steady-state convective diffusion problems in two dimensions. The free-space steady convective diffusion fundamental solutions considered in this article provide an analytical upwinding for the entire Peclet number range, from zero to infinity. However, integration of the kernels over the boundary elements requires considerable attention, especially at higher Peclet numbers. We define an influence domain due to these convective kernels and then loca… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
