Efficiency optimization for LCC‐LC compensated inductive coupling power transfer system with load‐independent zero‐phase‐angle and constant voltage output

Abstract: SummaryHigh‐order compensation for the inductive coupling power transfer (ICPT) system is preferred due to its high design freedom and excellent coil current harmonics suppression capability. Especially, the good harmonics suppression capability is helpful to implement the synchronous wireless transfer of energy and data with a pair of data communication coils integrated into the energy transfer coils. Thus, on basis of THD1 and THD2 comparison for different high‐order compensation topologies, the LCC‐LC compe… Show more

“…To improve the maximum power transferred to the coil compensation is needed for both sides such as S-S, S-P, P-P, and P-S [22]- [24]. While using the compensation both sides reactive powers observed components are neutralized and transferred only to the active power also the transmitter and receiver voltage and current are in phase as zero power angle (ZPA) [25]. From that series-series compensation is simple and less complex to design [26]- [29].…”

“…Currently, the analysis methods for WPT systems are categorized into two groups based on whether or not they consider high‐order harmonics 29,30 . Since the compensation networks filter out almost all high‐frequency components, the fundamental harmonic approximation is adopted in this paper.…”

“…P-P and P-S are current-fed compensators. Therefore to achieve the zero input reactive power, the input impedance will be almost resistive which results in zero phase angle (ZPA) [15] between input current and voltage. So power transfer capability (PTC) and efficiency of the WPT system will increase.…”
