Abstract

Due to the rise of medical research, recent decades have shown an explosion of medical and health-related information. In addition to salient research topics, there are areas in information provision that are markedly lacking. Is it possible to observe these processes ethically, as an outsider, from the vantage point of the information science and librarian profession? There is a wealth of internationally available knowledge, which we can processes scientifically, yet if we let it perish in the shadow of prosperous medical research, in domains will we most likely suffer losses.
