Establishment and characterization of a liver cell line from silver pomfret (Pampus argenteus) for studying fish health

“…LPS (L8880, Solarbio, China) was formulated at a concentration of 1 mg/mL in PBS, and diluted to concentrations ranging from 0 to 200 ng/mL. PaL cells at passage 40 were seeded into 96‐well plates and incubated with different concentrations (10, 50, 100, 200 ng/mL) of LPS or PBS as a control for 24 and 48 h. Similarly, PA was formulated as bovine serum albumin (BSA, Sigma, USA)/FA complexes at a concentration of 10 mM according to the previous study (Shi et al, 2022). Although fin, intestine and muscle cell lines have been established from P. argenteus , these established cell lines cannot fulfil certain experimental needs, such as efficient transfection of foreign genes (Li, Ji, et al, 2019; Li, Jia, et al, 2019; Shi et al, 2022; Zhang et al, 2023). Therefore, additional cell lines were urgently needed to study potential pathogens in the process of P. argenteus culture.…”
