Eight-lncRNA signature of cervical cancer were identified by integrating DNA methylation, copy number variation and transcriptome data

Abstract: Background Copy number variation (CNV) suggests genetic changes in malignant tumors. Abnormal expressions of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) resulted from genomic and epigenetic abnormalities play a driving role in tumorigenesis of cervical cancer. However, the role of lncRNAs-related CNV in cervical cancer remained largely unclear. Methods The data of messenger RNAs (mRNAs), DNA methylation, and DNA copy number were collected from 292 cervical canc… Show more

“… 32 8-lncRNA signature of CC has also been identified by integrating DNA methylation, copy number variation and transcriptome data. 33 In this study, a prognostic model of immune-related lncRNAs was established with multiple regression analysis. We found 8 immune-associated lncRNA signatures: LINC02802, LINC01281, LINC01877, ZBTB20-AS1, LINC02480, WWC2-AS2, IFNG-AS1, RBAKDN.…”

“…In humans, so far four homologs have been identifed: PIWIL1, PIWIL2, PIWIL3, and PIWIL4. PiRNA can influence diverse processes in cancer cells, including apoptosis, proliferation, migration and invasion, by regulating gene expression at both transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels [ 12 15 ]. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the effect and exact mechanism of piRNA in CC.…”

“…There are numerous examples of genomic variants in cis-regulatory regions that affect transcription of coding or non-coding target genes [118][119][120]. Promoters (especially the core promoter) are the prime regulatory units of transcription, as they embed transcription factor motifs that enable formation of the Pre-Initiation Complex (PIC) adjacent to the transcription start site of the gene [121].…”
